Or how to go from shy, retiring wallflower to confident extrovert, power-strutting across the stage and delivering a memorable message in just over two days!
Requirements: a desire to get your message across, your initial ideas for an up-and-coming presentation, a willingness to listen and learn, and a love of good, old-fashioned hard work.
Join writing and communications trainer, Simon Clews for one of the hardest, yet potentially most rewarding weekends of your life. Come along with the beginnings of a presentation or talk you have to give and walk away just over forty-eight hours later with a broad knowledge of what it takes to be a commanding stage presence with the audience in the palm of their hand. Learn about the writing and editing processes for the written content of your talk, how to effectively use visuals and technology and how to combine the two into a powerful presentation package. Undertake personal analysis to determine your strengths and weaknesses and how to work with them to conquer and command any stage or audience you want to.
Friday night: social event to get to know your fellow communicators and to get an outline of the aims and activities for the weekend.
Saturday: the content – the words on the page: research, writing, editing, structure. The images that can support you and the technology that adds the spark.
Sunday: the performance – delivering the presentation, stage presence and confidence, dealing with stage fright, improvisation and handling Q&A. And, of course, the highlight of any boot camp – the passing out parade.
